In a recent AMC Outdoors magazine, there was an article titled "Trashy Brands". As it turns out, each year, the nonprofit "Break Free from Plastic" sets out to find out which brands create the most litter. The 2019 "winners" for North America are 1) Nestle', 2) Solo, and 3) Starbucks. The 2019 "winners" worldwide are 1) Coca-cola, 2) Nestle' and 3) Pepsico. The article provides ways to take action: reduce your own consumption of single use plastic, demand that companies reduce their use of plastic, reach out to local elected officials to pass legislation limiting plastic use, join a litter cleanup effort, or join the plastic-free movement.
