Reuse and Recycle: Take-out Containers

Even though these black plastic take-out containers have the recycle mark on them, the town that I live in doesn't actually recycle them because they don't work with the optical scanner. Why is recycling so complicated???? I found this information very discouraging, especially during the pandemic, when we are trying to help restaurants by doing take-out. As it turns out, TerraCycle offers recycling for these containers and someone in my town was actually collecting them! I have also found these containers to be great little plastic plates for when you are traveling and need containers. So, here is an example of "Reuse, Recycle".
